More than 100 community members gathered April 25 for the Early Pregnancy Loss Association’s Spring Tea & Bake-Off, raising nearly $7,000 to support families experiencing early pregnancy loss.
The event—presented by WCSR & 99.5 The Dale—brought together local bakers, decorators, and supporters for an afternoon of tea, desserts, and fundraising. “This event exceeded every expectation we had,” said EPLA co-founder and corresponding secretary Emily Carrington. “It was a powerful reminder that our community cares deeply about our mission and supporting families walking through loss. We are so grateful.” In recent years, the EPLA has distributed more than 6,000 miscarriage care kits across Michigan and in all 50 states, while also focusing on local outreach in Hillsdale County. Through partnerships and community support, the organization continues to expand its efforts to care for families in need—including with a medical bill relief program at Hillsdale Hospital. “We were overwhelmed by the turnout and generosity of this community,” said Maria Servold, EPLA’s president. “To see more than 100 people come together to stand with families who have experienced miscarriage was incredibly meaningful. Every dollar raised will directly help us continue providing care and resources to those who need it most.”
